A good but not the only indicating factor is usually price any bouncy castle for less than around £85 per hire might not have all the relevant test/insurance (that’s not to say they all won't but it’s worth checking).
How far in advance should i book?
Booking early is highly recommended, especially if you want to lock in your date and equipment. During the summer months and on weekends we get very busy.
On average most of our garden and hall bookings comes in 33 days in advance whereas bookings for weddings and large events come in up to 1 year in advance.
We can take last minute bookings subject to availability please call us to check availability.
Do you take a deposit?
For all bookings, we take a 25% non-refundable booking fee rounded up to the next £10. See the outline below for guidance:
- £40 - booking values up to £160
- £50 - booking values up to £200
- £60 - booking values up to £240
- £70 - booking values up to £280
- £80 - booking values up to £320
As we get super busy all booking fees must be paid within 24 hours of your booking being made or your requested booking will be removed from the system to allow someone else to book the items. If you do require a few more days, please get in touch as we may be able to reserve the item for a little longer.
The booking fee can be paid via card payment through Stripe or BACS. If you’d like to pay via BACS payments, please email us for details.
Do you have a minimum spend for bookings?
Yes, we do have a minimum spend in place, our minimum spend excludes any delivery charges. The minimum area for some areas further afield may vary. Our minimum spend varies from £135 to £300 depending on how far away your booking is. You can view all our minimum spend requirements below by selecting your city:
The reason we have a minimum spend is to cover the costs of the time taken out of the day delivering and collecting orders that may be further away from our base meaning we are less likely to cover the area, especially during busy summer months.
Please be aware that some delivery areas may have a higher minimum order cost due to the distance of the delivery area, these can be seen here.
How much room will I need for the bouncy castles/equipment?
This may be better answered by what bouncy castle you can have. All Inflatables will require a certain space in which they can be setup in as a general guide a 12ft x 12ft will need 22ft x 22ft of clear space to be set up correctly and safely.
If space is not an issue then the size of castle you need depend of the number of guests most children’s castles will hold between 4 and 7 users at a time and so suitable for a party of up to around 12 children, if you have more guests it may be best to book two bouncy castles or an package which would cater for more children.
What size bouncy castle do I need?
The size of each product can be found on its product page, along with the set-up area required.
Please ensure you have the required space and access width for the inflatable you are booking. On the day of your booking if the space is not adequate you will still be charged in full as we are not liable for measuring your desired space.
If you aren’t sure on what will fit in the space, just email us a photo of the area to info@gedlingcastlehire.co.uk.

For safety, some of our large bouncy castles/equipment such as rodeo rides may NOT be able to be taken up and down steps.
Do you offer overnight or multi-day hire?
Yes, we do offer overnight hire, this is an additional £45.
Overnight hires must be in a secure garden i.e., minimum of 6ft high fences or hedges, a lockable gate and someone living on site.
We are also able to offer a multi-day hire, this is worked out at the normal price plus half of the product price and half overnight.
For example: £100 Inflatable Slide for 2 days would be £100 (First Hire Day) + £50 (Half Price) + £22.50 (Half Overnight) = £172.50
If a multi-day hire is available on the product this can be found on each products page.
If you choose overnight or multi-day hire and on the delivery of your equipment the location is not secure, then overnight or multi-day hire will not be allowed but full payment will still be charged.
What preparations should I make before taking delivery of the bouncy castle/equipment?
Please ensure the following:
We can park close to the location
Access to your property is clear of any vehicles (i.e., cars on the drive)
Access is clear so we can get in and out quickly (inflatables are wheeled in on a sack trolley)
Let us know when booking about any steps we may need to go up or down
The site where the inflatable is to be placed is clear and level, all stones, sharp objects and dog mess etc. is removed.
A standard household socket is available within 30m for us to plug the inflatable in to, we require one per inflatable. We cannot plug into an extension lead.
Please avoid cutting your grass within a few days before hire, as this causes excessive dirt on the inflatables/equipment.
How much electricity does a bouncy castle take?
Almost all bouncy castles from garden hire run on a 1.5hp blower (some larger inflatable slides and assault courses may run on a 2.0hp blower and some may have multiple fans).
- 1x Single 1.5hp Gibbons Fan (the most common type and manufacturer) consuming 1.68kW and using the average UK electricity cost of 27.03 p/kWh that makes 45.41 pence per hour.
- 2x Single 1.5hp Gibbons Fan (the most common type and manufacturer) consuming 3.36kW and using the average UK electricity cost of 27.03 p/kWh that makes 90.82 pence per hour.
Please note the above is a rough guideline and may vary.
Can you set up the bouncy castle inside?
Yes. All of our bouncy castles and inflatables are suitable for indoor use. We often provide inflatable hire for indoor venues such as village halls, sports halls and community centres. All of the inflatables that go indoors will be set up using sandbags to weigh them down and prevent them moving. All inflatables will be provided with safety mats around open sides.
Always confirm the ceiling height and the size of the room with the hall you are booking to check the products will fit.
We have a great list of recommended venues with full measurements including what will fit. If you aren’t sure just ask!
Can bouncy castles be used in the rain?
Majority of our bouncy castles are fitted with shower covers.
In the event of very bad weather forecast before your booking, we will contact you to establish if it is safe to proceed with the hire.
If it rains during your booking the inflatable must be left up and not used under any circumstances. Once the rain stops just dry it off with a towel and then you can continue to use.
Please call us if you are not using the equipment so we can come to collect it early to avoid the inflatable getting too wet and heavy.
Which areas do you deliver?
We serve all areas in and around Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester Postcodes. Please see our Delivery Areas Page for further details.
Do bouncy castles / inflatables have to be on grass?
All of our bouncy castle and inflatables must be on grass as we need to be able to peg the equipment into the ground. The pegs we use are 380mm long by 18mm diameter.
In some cases we may be able to supply for hard standing however you must contact us to discuss this.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, we have Public Liability Insurance, which is subject to the terms and conditions of hire agreement, of which you will be required to read and sign on the day, as YOU, the hirer, are responsible for supervision at all times.
You can download our insurance document here - https://www.gedlingcastlehire.co.uk/pages/terms-and-conditions
Do you allow face paint or silly string on your bouncy castles/equipment?
No, I’m afraid we do not allow face paint, silly string or confetti on any or near any of our bouncy castles or equipment.
This is because certain face paints stain inflatables and equipment, if any face paint marks are found on our equipment after your hire, there will be a cleaning charge and if they cannot be removed a replacement charge will be issued.
We do not allow confetti or silly string as this gets into the grooves of the PVC and stains the bouncy castle and equipment. If any is found there will be a cleaning charge and if the stain cannot be removed a replacement charge will be issued.
Are your inflatables tested?
Yes, all of our inflatables are tested to EN14960, this means that all our equipment has been cleared for commercial use. The majority of our inflatables are tested under the PIPA Inspection Scheme, these inflatables will have a tag number on the front which can be checked against an online database.
