21 January 18 - Top 10 Tips for Booking a Bouncy Castle!

Read our Top 10 Tips for booking a bouncy castle, this post includes how to choose the right inflatable, safety information and recommended preparations for the day.

  1. How many children do you have to entertain?

    • This is an important section when selecting the size and style of inflatable you are going to book as most standard 12x12ft bouncy castles will hold up to around 7 children at one time. With no other entertainment, this would be suitable for a party of around 12 children as not all the children will want to be on the inflatable at once.

  2. How much space do you have?

    • Each different inflatable requires a different amount of space for safety reasons if the inflatable is advertised as a 12x12ft and your garden is 12x12ft the space would not be suitable for this inflatable. Inflatables require around 3ft either side of the inflatable including 5ft behind for the blower tube and blower with an additional 4ft in front for safety mats. The total required space for a 12x12 would be 18ft wide x 21ft long. All our inflatables include the size and required space on each product under suitability.

Remember if you are looking for a hall to check the ceiling height of the venue.

  3. Are you looking for a certain theme?

    • If you are having a themed party, it might be nice to try and get a matching bouncy castle. We have many different themes as well as plain bouncy castles suitable for boys and girls.

  4. What type of Inflatable are you looking for?

    • There are many different types of inflatables such as standard bouncy castles, inflatable slides, disco domes, bouncy castle with a slide (combi), ball pools, inflatables games and fun runs! Make sure you choose something suitable for age requirement of your party.

  5. Choosing a supplier?

    • There are many inflatable suppliers to choose from we recommend when choosing one you make sure they are a reputable company, you can do this by reading reviews from there Facebook pages or google plus pages and looking at pictures of previous work. As an inflatable hire company we have a 100% track record and have never let any of our customers down, however we are constantly getting phone calls saying that another bouncy castle hasn’t turned up for their party and could we deliver something asap, obviously you don’t want the added stress of this so booking the right supplier to start with is highly important.

    • Remember!! Cheapest isn’t always best.

  6. Picking an inflatable!

    • Once you’ve found your supplier, scroll through their website to find an inflatable that catches your eye, don’t forget to look through pages such as packages or party extras as these are normally where the deals are!

    • Top Tip!! Check Facebook pages for any special offers.

  7. Check for test certificates and insurance documents

    • All inflatables must be tested annually to EN14960 (2013), this is the British Standard that regulates the inflatable hire industry, these tests mainly come in the form of an RPII or PIPA. The reason for the tests is for the safety of your children as some older inflatables are no longer up to standards. It is best that the company you book with has public liability insurance, this ensures that their operators are insured to set up inflatables correctly and safety in line with the British Standard.

  8. Booking your inflatable

    • Now you have chosen the right supplier and bouncy castle for you, you can go on to booking your inflatable. Most companies will have an online booking system however you can also ring up and book over the phone.

  9. Preparations for the day!

    • On the day make sure there is a clear access route for bringing the inflatable into the garden or hall, bare in mind that most inflatables will be on a sack truck which requires around 3ft width, any tight doorways, gates or stairs should be made aware at the time of booking. Ensure the space where the inflatable is clear of all litter, rubbish and animal waste or any other items that may be in the way.

  10. Enjoy your day!

  • Now that your inflatable has arrived let the party begin! Make sure an adult is supervising the inflatable at all times while in use.
